Unless residing in a major city with custom imagery, Google Now users have been treated to the same generic landscape as the app’s header since its launch. Yes, there is some variety depending on the time of day, but that’s about the extent of things. Google seems to be headed in a different direction now, though, as some users are reporting the appearance of Google Doodles behind Google Now’s search bar.
The doodles add a nice touch (even if they are unlikely to include the interactive features of the web version), but part of us would be a bit sad to see the background replace the current custom images entirely. Perhaps it’s all for the sake of variety and we will end up seeing a mix of all.

I like it…
Just started GoogleNow and in a split second saw it swap out my NYC skyline with the Ferris wheel doodle. I want my skyline back! :)
It is interactive. If you tap on it it pulls up the Web search like on a browser.
Doodles was on my s3 this morning. After awhile, it switched between old, new & none for 10 min until it finally settled on none in portrait & Doodles in landscape lol
Wait!! Depending on your city depends on your Google Now background? I never noticed that!! I stay in Houston. I’m sure there’s some custom background, right?
Oh, and completely off topic, but Motorola X Phone. Can’t wait!!
