Report: Samsung to host Unpacked event March 15, unveil Galaxy S4

A new report further details the rumored launch event for the Samsung Galaxy S4. It has been known that the Korean company would bypass Mobile World Congress in favor of hosting their own event to unveil their next Android flagship, and previous rumors placed the event some time in March. Now SamMobile claims to have the inside track on a Samsung Unpacked showcase to take place March 15th.

The location of the event is still a mystery, though it is believed Samsung could choose to debut the phone in the US. Last year’s Galaxy S3 was introduced to the world at an event in London, but a US-based launch could apply a little extra pressure to Samsung’s biggest competitor, Apple.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is rumored to sport a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and could ship with the company’s new Exynos 5 Octa processing platform. Signs point to a launch in early April in some European regions.

    4. I’ll take the far right one

  2. Just when I think I’m ready to upgrade something like this happens and makes me want to wait another month to see how good it is!

    1. Just be careful you don’t get stuck on that train forever waiting for the next thing. Make a list of features you want and when a device hits them (or most of them) buy. Although, personally I would wait for the SGS4 and Moto X phone releases at this point.

      1. I think for the most part you can assume a good/bad time to buy a new phone so you wont always have to play the waiting game. Seems like Spring/Fall is when new generations are developed, you probably guaranteed at least a few months of nothing much different or better than what you just bought coming out if you buy your devices then.

  3. Would take anything from Sammobile with a truckload of salt.

  4. Here’s hoping the s4 comes with the s-pen

    1. I want all 4 of those girls on or around my s-pen

      1. Touche my friend, touche.

    2. No…no…no….

    3. Screw the S-Pen, you can buy a Note. I don’t want a crappy stylus taking up precious internal battery space.

  5. Does anyone recall how soon after the announcement of the S4 was it released in the US – preferably on Big Red?

    1. Judging by these references, the S3 was announced on May 29 and Verizon started selling it on July 12 = 1.5 months later.

      1. LOL……….too funny……but i do agree with Butters comments…..but hell I aint complaining

      2. Lol. I wouldn’t go that far. And I was merely pointing out that Samsung usually gets pretty solid models, but this time 1/2 of them are up to spec (pun intended).

      3. There all hags. Raise your standards.

  10. I’m hoping they launch only a couple weeks after that announcement worldwide and on every US carrier on the same day. I’d love to see it set some records.
