You or someone you know buying a phone this year? Sign-up to receive a $50 gift card from Best Buy

18

Best Buy is running one of their most popular smartphone deals again for the 2013 calendar year. The company is accepting sign-ups from anyone who anticipates upgrading their smartphones this year. This sign-up will put your name, or anyone you know, in line for a $50 gift card in the event that you upgrade your phone with them at some point before December 31st, 2013.

The catch is that you only have until February 9th to sign-up. That should be no issue, though, as it only takes a couple of minutes to get through. Those of you who recently upgraded might not have another upgrade before the window expires, but this deal is active for any new activation — including those of you who are opening up a new line of service or adding a line — so even if you don’t think you’ll qualify for it before the end of the year you should sign up anyway.

All you need to do is submit a phone number and an email address, and you’ll be on your way toward a free gift card with your purchase whenever that glorious day arrives. Head to Best Buy to get started.

[Thanks Chris!]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Just signed up, now just waiting for Sprint to get their LTE act together for bay area

  2. LOL!!! Who the hell would buy a phone and service from best buy? Even with this offer their prices are ridiculous. Plus they make you stand in a line that’s like the line to space mountain at Disneyland. As if it’s a privilege to be buying a phone from them. Plus best buy blows in general and their people are dumb.

    1. They price match Radio Shack/Target/the carrier plus you get an additional $50 off and they have a reasonable phone protection plan. I hate Best Buy as much as the next person, but for phones they are a go to spot.

      1. They match radio Shack and target??? LOL! Two more places I would never consider buying a phone. When they start price marching Amazon or Wirefly then we can talk. Either way I decided after my galaxy Nexus and verizon LTE Fail I will never get myself stuck in a contract again. I just really hate best buy and want people to stop shopping there so they go out of business. :-)

        1. I would never buy my phones at Radio Shack or Target either, but usually they have the best prices when a phone first comes out.

I got my One X for $99.99 on the day it came out. Amazon/Target/Radio Shack all had it for $149.99 if you preordered. Best Buy price matched the $149.99 and then I used the same $50 promotion.

Amazon doesn’t start to beat prices until months after a phone comes out and then usually it’s only if you are a new customer not returning.

        2. Bob; you are mis-informed. BB does currently match amazon wireless pricing. So with this promotion they will always be at least $50 less. Enjoy your no contract carrier.

          1. Who said I was going to a no contract carrier? I can stay right where I am with verizon and unlimited data and just not renew my contract. Was month to month for 4 years before the Gnex sucked me in and utterly disappointed me. As terrible as verizons service has been for me the last year+ I’m almost tempted to try tmobile though.

  3. I did this last year for my Nexus. Ended up getting it for $100 off. I’m getting my wife a Galaxy S3 next weekend for $50 using this deal.

  4. I did this last year during the super bowl and completely forgot about it. As soon as you go to buy your phone though BAM! $50 off. So sweet.

  5. I did this last year and ended up getting the evo for $50 when it finally released

  6. I did this last year to get $50 off my SGS3 at the end of June, but, June + 20 months == I can’t upgrade until Jan 1st, 2014 at the very earliests (AT&T), so, no point.

    1. Hey man. I work for Best Buy Mobile and I’ve had customers come in who signed up last year and the computer will still let us print out the coupon. Just had one on February 1st. A bunch in January that I could still print out and use toward the phone.

      1. Thanks – guess it can’t hurt to try

  7. I cannot believe all the hate for Best Buy they always treat me like gold and buying a phone from them is usually a breeze.,and when I walk out its working, plus ii believe they will match phone prices

  8. This deal cant be beat. Best Buy currently even matches Amazon pricing. With this promotion you could upgrade to one of their free phones and get paid $50 to take it! Or use it pto pay for one of the more current phones. Best Buy has a 30 day price match guarantee With the extra $50 off you are foolish to not take advantage of this.

  9. Bob is a dumbass

  10. Do it.. Even if you don’t think you are, will, etc. I got $200 in gift cards for each Evo lte I bought last year.. All 4 for free.. No obligation. No emails, no spam, etc.

  11. Here ya go … this was from last year, and all 4 $50 gift cards were stackable …. as I said, all 4 HTC EVO LTE (Sprint’s One X) were FREE, out the door …
