Yesterday we told you guys about OUYA CREATE, a collaborative effort between OUYA and Kill Screen to get development of new games spurred in time for the console’s launch. Up to $45,000 in prizes are up for grabs so if you’re interested in seeing how you can get in on the competition be sure to check that post out here.
If you’re having trouble coming up with some ideas, though, the folks at OUYA have put together a list of different types of games you can make. The number one thing is to just make something. If your heart isn’t with a first person shooter game, that’s fine. If the AI and logic engine of a RPG is too daunting a task, that’s fine too. Make a simple puzzle game, if you want. Whatever you do, just go and code!
The list of ideas OUYA put together are said to be perfect for utilizing every bit of the platform’s hardware, from the sheer power of the Tegra 3 processor down to that unique trackpad on the front of the controller. Things like game shows, games with an episodic content structure, games which feature local multiplayer and more are offered up alongside the usual crop of genres.
Be sure to check out the full post at OUYA’s site, and don’t forget to discuss some great ideas over at OUYABoards.com, a growing community of enthusiasts and developers surrounding this crowd-sourced wonder. Good luck!
