The holidays are here! While the subject of our adoration is robot oriented, our staff is composed of humans, and the site’s content will be a bit slow as Phandroid and Android Forums staff celebrate with friends and family alike. But we’re hoping you’ll join our Holiday Party on Google+ and share your holiday cheer in the form of pictures, video, and text.
Here’s the kicker: we’re giving away a Nexus 7 tablet to five random participants of our online holiday party!
Here’s how you can win:
- Add Phandroid to your circles on Google+
- Join our Phandroid Holiday Party event
- From now through 11:30PM Eastern on December 25th, share some holiday cheer with other party attendees in the form of text, pictures, and video.
- On December 26th, Phandroid Staff will randomly select from amongst our favorite party posts, and each of the winners will receive a brand new Nexus 7 tablet.
Some additional rules:
- Must be 18+ to win
- Must have a shipping address in the continental United States, but if we randomly select a winner outside of the USA, we’ll hook you up with a consolation prize (so don’t let that stop you from partying!)
- Winners will be selected at the sole discretion of Phandroid.com
- Winners will be contacted through Google+ and if winners do not respond with 48 hours, new winners may be selected in their place.
- Each post counts as an additional entry, but please be selective: excessive posting is frowned upon and staff may disqualify users who simply post to maximize their entries. Don’t make SantaDroid put you on the naughty list!
So carry your Android Phone or Tablet around with you, capture whatever holiday cheer you can, and share it will all your friends at Phandroid and Android Forums.

That’s kind of the point! Spend the time with your family… snap pictures as you normally would… but share some of your favorites to the Phandroid Holiday Party. Trust us, we don’t want to pull you away from your family during the holidays and that’s exactly why we chose this contest route.

I can count on one hand how many of my friends use Google Plus. Can’t say the same for Facebook.

Tired of all these contests that require Google+, facebook, or twitter.
They also have contests where you just leave a simple comment on the article.
I know and I enter those. This isn’t the only site that does it, a lot do, and it just annoys me that I choose not to deal with social media and lose out on chances to win stuff. But that is my choice and I would rather not be able to win then deal with social networks.

I’m new to Google+, having a tough time figuring out how to post a picture to the event. I don’t see the “add photos” button, as Help suggested and when I post a picture it wants me to post to a person, circle or email address. Can someone spread the Google+ holiday cheer my way?
I’ve never posted a pic to a event, however I think you need to make the picture public. I think that is how the event posts are organized automatically, so I would assume that the pictures need to be the same. Hope that helps, and Merry Christmas to you.
