Verizon Galaxy Note 2 begins shipping to customers, arrives this Thursday

18

Good news for those that pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 on Verizon Wireless. No, they aren’t getting rid of that branded home button (that we know of), but Verizon has begun sending out shipping confirmation emails to early adopters, with an expected arrival date as early as this Thursday (although a few readers have received Friday dates as well). At $300 with a 2-year agreement and $700 off-contract, the Note is one of Verizon Wireless’ biggest device in stature and pricing.

The Note 2 will go head-to-head with the HTC Droid DNA this holiday season, and while both have their strengths and… well, more strengths, they seem to be evenly matched on the spec front. Guess it’s just up to the user to decide which is the perfect size for them. We’re hearing the device will also be available in-store on the same day, Thursday, November 29th for those that didn’t pre-order. Just get to your local store early, as we’re hearing some stores only receiving as little as 2 units for sale.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. OMG, that home button! I would scratch it out before I put up with that.

    1. It just makes the home button look…so uneven. All the text is mashed in there with a big checkmark. It’s some of the worst marketing I’ve seen.

    2. What’s worst, having the logo on the button which can be covered up with a sticker or on the very top DNA style? Does button stickers will be a dime a dozen pretty soon.

  2. I am about ready to throw this damn TBolt out the window.. I want my Note 2 to show up already.. I cant believe that VZW put off this amazing device so long to promote their DNA..

  3. Can’t wait !!

  4. Mine is on the way. I can’t believe it. I did Sorint for the Evoke 4g, ATT for the first galaxy note, and finally, after three years, Verizon finally has the phone I want. Hallelujah.

    1. Either “Evoke 4G” was a bad autocorrect or the most awesome joke ever.

  5. Can’t wait. Received shipping notice today.

  6. that home button lol

  7. If the bootloader is unlocked soon I think I might just trade up from my GS3.

  8. finally I’m happy for my Verizon family. Maybe otterbox can start releasing our cases now.

  9. Great phone i have one on Sprint i know they suck but t works well were i live and the 20plus gb of data i use every month so i need unlimited Sprints note has no branding on it at all looks nice

  10. Hmm, I just thought of something. If the S4 does have a physical home button, I wonder if Verizon will do the same crap with the S4 home button as they did with the Note 2 home button???

  11. i don’t really care that the button says Verizon what i do care about is that it wont be on my doorstep tomorrow:( come on Thursday baby

  12. Really? Two units for sale at some stores, after they put this thing off for nearly five weeks? They’ll ass up every single thing they can possibly ass up, won’t they?

It’s pretty obvious that the demand is there for this phone. If they’d been caught with their pants around their ankles releasing the phone when it was supposed to be released, it could be forgivable. To still have their pants down there five weeks out, though? Class act, Verizon, as always.

  13. Ordering my aluminum home button cover overnight shipping right now!!! =)

  14. I’m so jealous of everyone of you getting this beautiful thing.. My upgrade isn’t till March 3rd..ughhh this dam charge is such a pos
