  1. Does anyone actually use apps like these? I’m not being condescending, I’m acutally just curious. If you do, could you explain why?

    1. i use it because i don’t want to get my sprint bill to get out of hand. i have friends from other countries that i like to keep in touch with using text or even calling them through this app, aside from using fb. if you don’t have friends outside of this country, then this app is not as much of use to you. :)

      1. Well that makes more sense. I guess with a friend and colleague group limited to the US, I dont have much use for this. Although I am a huge fan of the UI.

    2. Free calls and free text maybe?

    3. As per Oliver, I use it to chat with overseas friends, send pictures etc without incurring huge bills. Of course incompatibility with 4.1 means i’m currently not using it. Hopefully the Viber team turn around the Jelly Bean fix quicker than the ICS fix which took MONTHS!

  2. Ryan think about this: you are in US and your friend is in China. You both download viber, guess what? You actually call each other for free over wifi or 3G and the call quality is almost like normal and……….no international charges, I guess ignorance can be very expensive.
