The Samsung Galaxy S3 seems to be a fine device quality wise, but there appears to be at least one extremely faulty unit out there. Dillon, who goes by dillo2k10 on the interwarbs, sat and watched as his Galaxy S3 suffered a small explosion in his car.
The device apparently let out a small, white flame, then let out an unsettling, yet harmless bang to top it all off. This effectively killed the radios inside but everything else, such as the display, seemed to be working fine for him.
Let’s hope this is an isolated issue and that we don’t have an exploding Galaxy S3 pandemic sweeping the globe. Hit the source link for more photos. [Boards.ie, thanks Joel!]
It’s a conspiracy I tell ya hahaha, they’re all out to get us

Oh, the fanboys will have a perfect excuse.

I recall Droid 2 exploding in the middle of call couple of years ago. Faulty units out of millions of them just happens.
If Im thinking of the same incident as you, wasn’t that a hoax?
It was. The guy dropped the phone and it broke the glass, but he didn’t check and see if the glass was broken before putting it back up to his ear, so it cut his ear lol.
Do we know if it was the battery that caused this? Or was it a component failure?
That was actually the Michael Bay special edition, he just didn’t realize it when he bought it…
bravo, sir!
Ron Swanson. The man, the myth, the mustache.
Sammy: it took too long but we finally succeeded in copying you Apple. :D
