And Sony Unveils… The All New Xperia Miro – Made Out Of Pure Imagination

11

It may not be “designed for humans,” but the latest to come out of Sony’s camp is the all new Xperia Miro and it’s “made out of imagination.” The sexy little device was unveiled tonight via Sony’s Facebook page after the announcement date was pushed forward thanks to fans “likes.

Sad to say, the device wasn’t met with the warmest reception. More than a few Sony fans who were a tad disappointed after hoping for a spec’d out Hayabusa, and although specs for the Xperia Miro weren’t specifically addressed, this looks to be little more than a mid-range device for the masses. Expect a 3.5-inch display, 5MP rear with complimentary front facing camera, all running on Android 4.0 and the latest Timescape UI.

There’s still plenty of time left in the year, so let’s hope Sony has a few more falcons up their sleeve. You can watch the quick Xperia Miro ad in the video below. Let me know what you guys think.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. Sony has disappointed so many times, I don’t even know if I care

  2. I love Sony and their designs, I can’t wait to see what else they have!

    1. Yup. Excited for when a nice S4 device finally comes to the states :D

  3. coolio

  4. I still have my w810i lol but I dig this one-xey kinda design! very cool. yes lower specs etc. but if this is the one-s level model, and they have a beefier model coming out I might actually consider leaving htc!

mainly because of the nearly vanilla google experience

  5. One thing i fail to understand is why people hate mid range phones. Especially ones made by Sony. Samsung releases a million Galaxy devices, yet nobody bats an eyelid. Sony announces a few mid-low rangers and suddenly everyone jumps down their throats. Not everyone van afford a budget-busting GSIII or iPhone 5 beater.
I’m so sorry that Sony don’t want to release their flagship just yet. It’ll be out when it’s ready. I don’t really care about quad core mobile CPUs. I just want a quality UX and wallet friendly devices, as such, this kind of phone is perfect for me.

    1. I think the reason behind that response is because those same people really, really, really want a chart topping Sony smartphone. A lot of people want Sony to step up and blow everyone away, but their smartphones always seem a dollar short and a day late compared to Sammy, HTC, Moto and especially Apple. I have to admit I’m somewhat in that camp. The reason being is that Sony’s designs are much more to my liking than Sammy, HTC and Apple. So as far as “cool” looking devices go I think Sony has a a lot of going for them. Personally I’d like to see Sony succeed on the level, or close, to the level that Sammy has succeeded in the mobile market.

    2. Its because a lot of Android fans can be a bunch of internet babies at times. Always thinking what phone is a good phone because, you know, they know how the business works…

By their logic, if its not a quad core, and its battery doesn’t last more than a week, then it is regarded as useless and invaluable to anyone that owns it.

  6. Finally another hardcore player. The latest Sony phones are really great! I believe 2012 for Sony will be year of success.

  7. Moto and Sony are my favorite if Sony step up their game.

  8. Where is the ion?
