T-Mobile have posted details about an upcoming Samsung Galaxy S II upgrade headed their way tonight. The upgrade will bring Ice Cream Sandwich, surprisingly enough, making them one of the first US carriers to get the upgrade for that phone. Expect TouchWiz to remain present, but don’t expect any of the new features found in TouchWiz 4.0 to make their way to the handset.
Other improvements will include WiFi calling, voicemail, and CMAS (Commercial Mobile Alert System). It’ll be made available through Kies so be sure to have the app downloaded to your computer. Sucks that Samsung phones gets update so late because a new Samsung will be out in couple of days!
Congrats T-Mobile GSII owners. The GSII seemed like a good phone, but as a happy Nexus S fan, I may never go with a non-Nexus phone ever again. I got ICS in DECEMBER! Admittedly, the Galaxy S III is making me rethink that, but I’ll likely hold off until the next rumored Nexus drops in (rumored) November.

Finally… I never thought this day would come. It took a total of 2 hours to get it through an hour and 40 minutes to install kies the right way and 20 minutes to deploy the upgrade.

great update….very responsive and smooth…..even seems more vibrant on the screen
