Samsung Galaxy S3 Pre-Orders Reach 9 Million – Factories Running At Full Capacity

32

If there was ever any doubt that the next generation Galaxy S wouldn’t be a hit, the Korea Economic Daily is reporting that Samsung has received a total of 9 million global pre-orders for the Galaxy S3 (that’s like, the entire population of New Jersey), solidifying the Korean manufacturer as the top selling smartphone maker in the world.

This information comes from an anonymous Samsung official who also mentioned that Samsung’s smartphone factory is running at full steam to keep up the potential demand, churning out 5 million units per month. That’s a whole lotta Galaxies. I wonder which color will be most popular?

    1. I’m hoping they do.

  2. holy crap…..i thought people didnt like the new s3

  3. I for one am kinda disappointed by the S3. I guess with all the high rumors and expectations. I for one wanted to see an edge to edge display. Um thats just me. I’ll stick with my beautiful Galaxy Nexus.

  4. are those androidified grills…i WANT ONE!!

    1. I’m not sure what they are but now you have me wanting a Big Green Egg grill shaped like Andy.

    2. No, they’re the fiberglass Android statues they use at Google events like I/O.

An Android grill would be sick though O_o

  5. if they fix the look, it might sell even better.

  6. I’m totally looking forward to the Galaxy S3. I had a bad experience with the S2, but, I am probably going to try again with the S3. It is really impressive looking.

  7. I am one of the 9,000,000 :D

    1. These are orders from carriers not customers. Now they have to sell them to customers. Curious why that wasn’t mentioned in this article? Any guesses?

  8. I’d pre-order one today if I could through VZW or at least one that would work on their network.

  9. If apple runs crying to mommy (government) I’m gonna be a very unhappy person. LoL :p I want my Galaxy S3 on sprint asap!

  10. Can we start calling them samSheep now? ;P

    1. Wow, so mature!

    2. LOL agree with you but atleast Sammy has quality not like icrapple

      1. Don’t get twisted one thing apple does have IS quality, their system might be closed off and boring, but quality they do excell at, gotta give credit where credit is due.

        1. I am talking about overall experience of using both phones

        2. Especially when you consider Samsung makes a lot of the parts for their mobile devices. Samsung have some awesome hardware, even Apple sees that.

        3. Yeah, gotta love the quality of the most commonly broken phone.

          1. “the most commonly broken phone” do you have the graph or the stat sheet where you got that from?? No? Then Stfu you’re only looking ignorant, I have both a galaxy s2 and a 4s and I know wtf I’m talking bout

          2. I do quite often repair phones and the most commonly broken one is the iPhone (screen or glass back on iPhone 4). My roommate recently started a business repairing and reselling phones. The most common phone to go through there for a repair is the iPhone. Not that this is any solid proof, but it does hi-light a bit of a trend http://www.google.com/trends/?q=iphone+repair,+android+repair,+blackberry+repair&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all&sort=0 . Second, don’t go cursing out the people that comment on your posts. Not very nice to call them ignorant either. If you want people to take you seriously, act like an adult and not some 15 year old that thinks they know every thing.

            Cheers.

          3. First of all when you click on that link nothing comes up its just gives you an error, try it, you’ll see.
Secondly all phones break yeah the iPhone will be more probe of you drop it cus it’s made of glass, however when I do hold it in my hand and hold my Gs2 they iPhone does feel more solid and does feel like of a much better quality, whereas my gs2 does feel cheaper, plastiquey, not trying o take anything from the the gs2 it does have a LoT more functionality than the iPhone, however build quality does feel better on the iPhone.

  11. Ha!!!!!! Take that iSheep phone!!!!!

  12. AT&T getting it? Sweet! Now I can replace my Gs2 skyrocket!

  13. Just wanted to say
    I’m part of that 9,000,000!!!
Go Samsung but most importantly GO ANDROID!

  15. ILL PROBLABLY GET ONE

  16. You have a month to bring this to verizon samsung. After that, I’ll have no choice but to choose a different phone.

  17. I am not one off the 9,999,999. If I ordered the preordered SGIII, It would be 10K.
