Unlocked Galaxy S II in the United States receiving Ice Cream Sandwich

While a high majority of Galaxy S II variants in the United States have yet to receive Ice Cream Sandwich, users of the unlocked GSM version will be happy to know that they”re among the first owners in the country to be graced with the sweet upgrade.

A 216MB upgrade, you should still see much of the same you’re used to with TouchWiz, but you’ll surely notice a lot of new Ice Cream Sandwich-specific stuff, including new security features, new data usage tracking, certain redesigned apps and more.

Samsung warns that the update does wipe some critical files such settings for music playlists, homescreens, APNs, and more. This one is headed to you over-the-air so check for it in your settings menu be sure to find yourself a WiFi connection before downloading. [via Engadget]

    1. They are holding it up because their a slow glacial company, just like AT&T does with every android update, AT&T phones are always almost dead last to get updates.
