HTC Amaze 4G, HTC Sensation 4G and More Nearing End-of-Life on T-Mobile?

8

Some devices survive a mobile lifetime without hitting end of life while others are decommissioned faster than the season in which they launched is over. It looks like T-Mobile will soon be putting several of their devices on end-of-life, many of them being Android-based handsets. Highlights include the HTC Sensation 4G, the HTC Amaze 4G.

We’ve also got the LG DoublePlay, the MyTouch by LG and the MyTouch Q by LG are all soon to be on their deathbeds. I should note that this doesn’t mean stock will immediately evaporate: T-Mobile will sell as many of them as they can be pulling them from store shelves.

However, don’t expect them to order any more units from here on out if this rumor is true. As for those who already own the aforementioned devices, this doesn’t mean software and warranty support will die along with the phones’ sale statuses. [via TmoNews]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. I only care for the replacement phones.

  2. What about the Galaxy s 4G? Wich is older than any of those.

  3. I don’t see the amaze dieing this early unless they have some super phone comming out

  4. Wow… it feels like yesterday when those phones came out.

  5. Funny, since the Amaze 4G still shows as “NEW” on the TMO website…

  6. Feeling like the end is getting closer and closer for good old tmo. Sad times

  7. This is exciting. The faster they close a model out, the faster they get a new phone on the floor. Remember, you still have your warranty, you still get the upgrades, and all. For example, the Amaze and other are still getting Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 most likely this month or next month. So the support is still there. But now there will be something newer for us to chose from. Woo Hoo.

  8. I want the Razr Maxx version for T-Mobile. I am not buying another phone that has a short batter life. Even my Google N1 phone has a 3200MAH battery!
