NikeFuel and FuelBand Encourages You to Keep Going [Fitness Bands]

11

Nike’s getting ready to introduce a couple of products soon. We’ve got NikeFuel and the service’s accompanying FuelBand. The FuelBand is sort of like a fitness watch except it isn’t really a watch.

It’s a stylish-looking LED-enabled band that can show you your calories lost and steps taken alongside a Fuel score. The Fuel score is calculated by those steps taken and calories lost and it’s calculated the same for everyone.

Your moving and breathing life is a big video game, sort of. You can compare your ongoing score with your friends’ and see how active you are compared to them. The device will be compatible with an Android application shortly after it launches. As for when it launches, you’ll be able to buy it starting February 22nd for just $150. [via Droid Life]

If they’re going to take the idea of Android sync “back to the team”, that’s not a very good sign, I fear.
