Rumor: Samsung Galaxy Note Headed to Verizon as the Samsung Galaxy Journal

27

We’re not sure how believable this one is but rumor has it that Verizon will be getting the Samsung Galaxy Note. Apparently it will be headed to store shelves as the Samsung Galaxy Journal. This comes just days after AT&T revealed that they will soon be carrying the device themselves.

The “Journal” name fits, of course, as the device is 5.3 inches and comes with a stylus for drawing and writing. As Samsung has not yet added LTE support for their dual core Exynos processors we’d expect Verizon’s version to come with Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon processor.

All of this is a rumor for now but we do expect carriers other than AT&T to carry the device here in the states. [Android Community]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. SPRINT, WHERE ARE YOU???

    1. they are all in on the icrap now

      1. You´re right…

  2. If this does come out on Verizon, I might just get it over the SGN.

  3. This is going to be like carrying around one of those devices the UPS and FedEx people carry around.

    1. I guess you do not have it – it is nothing like that – it’s light, fits in your pocket, …

      1. No I have never seen it in person. Well at least it fits in the pocket still

  4. Congrats Verizon users, the Note is awesome! The only downside is it won’t have the Exynos. But a win either way for you guys. :)

  5. Sprint seriously needs to get this bad boy

  6. Don’t think I could bring myself to buy it if it has the snapdragon, but I also wouldn’t buy it if it didn’t have LTE…

It’s a shame the 28nm LTE chipsets haven’t come out yet… think I’ll have to wait for that. While I’d love a 5.3″ display, I’d rather have something a little more future proof, even if it only has a ~4.5″ screen. My DroidX is still plodding along fine…

    1. Same here with droidX it is still a very capable droid.

  7. T-Mobile or Sprint please.

  8. And it will come with ICS??? Perfect! I love rumors.

  9. I, hope this is true because, I think this is better than the Nexus.

  10. I really want this on sprint

  11. Well, this just made it easier to resist getting the nexus.  A phone like this would get a ton of developer support.

  12. i want now samsung.

  13. Droid X 4.3″ screen ;-) and all I have to say to sprint customers is, you have a better shot getting anything cool if they merge with another carrier, in the mean time good luck with finding signal so that you can utilize that unlimited data.

    1. Good luck finding signal? My signal is always great.

  14. I saw the Galaxy Note at CES.  It’s a fantastic device.  If Verizon offers, I might just grab it… but it needs ICS.  It was running Gingerbread at CES :( booooooo.

It’s VERY thin, light, fits into your pocket without any problem. It might be slightly weird holding it to your head as a phone, but I think it would be easy to get used to that.

I would advise that women with small hands (or small handed men… lol) should stay away from this device.

  15. Yes! If it comes, i might just get it over the spectrum

    1. You should already be over it……not a very good phone IMHO

  16. This is a man sized phone! Bring it!

  17. Give it LTE, and i’m all in.

    1. well the AT&T version has LTE and VZ has already stated that all phones going forward will have LTE – so it’s pretty much a given that if the Note does end up on VZ that it will have LTE.

  18. …they couldn’t come up with a better name…JOURNAL? Doesn’t matter.I’m waiting for the GALAXY S3.

  19. Let me guess is Sprint gonna get this too and they leave out tmo again?
