14

After scoping out some deals from rival retailers Amazonhas updated their pricing for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. New customers of Verizon’s can get the phone for a low $150. If you’re an existing customer on an individual line, a still-attractive $200 price tag awaits you. If you’re on a family plan you’ll get $50 off its retail price at $250. Not bad at all, but be sure to consider the backorder date Amazon is currently displaying – it might be more than a week before you even see the thing. Head over there now to check the deals out for yourself. [Amazon, Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. If I were to
go to Verizon and root the damn thing,(I am currently at Sprint), will it bypass the data cap using Wireless Tether? I am considering to go to the Big Red network but the data is mierda!

Or, should I wait for Sprint to release the rumored HTC Evo Z (Zeta) by mid next year, (which will be twice as better than this phone)?

I have been curious to ask rooted Verizon owners this. Thank you!

    1.  It does not bypass data limits. It just allows you to tether without paying extra.

    2. The hardware will probably be better, I bet by mid year we may be getting Tegra3 phones. You will not have a stock vanilla Android installation on the HTC phone. HTC has had great developer support, so very likely that there will be custom ROM for t. Personally, I like SenseUI. Some like it, some don’t. By not being a Nexus device you are not likely to get the updates as fast. So, depends on what you are looking in a phone.

  3. already have mine!  saving a few bucks will not make me happier than i am now!!!  WOOT!

  4. Sure I’ll buy one for that price…….without a contract.

  5. Best of luck to you on that one Fred…

  6. Got mine for $250 at bestbuy. Price matched targets internet add

      1. Indeed..

  7. I wouldn’t take one for free on a VZW contract… I’ll hold out a little longer for a carrier that subsidizes the real Nexus device.

  8. Fuck it, I left T-mobile and bought this phone from amazon. Nexus here I come!!

  9. I got mine from a Verizon corporate store for $149.  Why use Amazon and lose my killer plan that doesn’t exist anymore and my unlimited data?  Guess it’s a good deal for new customers but definitely a shaft job for existing customers.

    1. you still get to keep unlimited data. But yea not everyone gets corporate kicks, so if you have a special plan than all power to you. So a person like me who has unlimited data already, it is not a bad deal. I get to pay 150 vs 300 from verizon and no tax.
