Some Verizon Wireless Customers Receiving $100 Off Coupon In The Mail – Good For ANY 4G Smartphone

29

Verizon Wireless is sending out a promotional mailer to residents in Illinois. The flyer states that the recipient can receive $100 off ANY of their 4G smartphones as long as they redeem it by December 25th. Rumor (yes, that’s all it is at this point) the Galaxy Nexus could launch next week making this a great time to signup or renew that contract. We’re still unsure on the reach of this mailer but now would be a good time to run outside and check your mail. Let us know if you guys have received it.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. It may launch in three years.

    1. But won’t matter, ’cause the world ends in December 2012 (and Verizon very well knows this)

      1. Yeah the Mayan calendar predicts the Galaxy Nexus to launch on 12/21/12 as well.

      2. I am waiting for it until the world is end. :-)

  2. Oh that’s cool, I mean, I’ve been with Verizon 10+ years, but by all means…send these promotions out to an entire state instead of a loyal consumer base…makes sense to me.

  3. if it expires the 25th. it means the nexus is coming out the 26th

  4. I’m curious to see if anyone who currently has a smartphone will receive this. Highly doubt it.

  5. Now if I could just get one of these and stack it with that Social Living coupon…

  6. I went into the store tonight and grilled the sales rep about the Nexus.  He smiled and said he couldn’t say anything, so I continued to bug hime and he said “very soon”, when I pressured him on next week.  From his vibe, it looks like the 13th to 15th area… he really wanted to say more, but I didnt want to get him in trouble.

  7. Second of all, this looks like a regional mailing to new 4G networks… “4G LTE Now Blazing Through _____, IL”

  8. Off topic but that would be so bad ass If during a hit show like X Factor we heard,”all of tonights performances are available for download via the Android market”

  9. They told me today at my local Verizon store that launch was set for the 15th when I went in and ask if it was worth my while to camp out in the morning to be the first to get one.

  10. I just picked through carrot peels, coffee grounds and a broken glass trying to see if my wife threw out my Verizon offer….. I guess mine hasn’t arrived yet.

  11. Hopefully this will go out to Ohio as well, if I receive this tomorrow I will forgive Verizon for postponing the launch from 12/9, especially if the coupon works with the $30 discount already on my account.

That is as long as that postponement is not too long.

  12. I am assuming this is a “New Every Two” credit available. My mailer I received today specifically says it’s for my number…which has that credit on it.

  13. I got mine a week ago in AZ.  However I got a similar offer in the mail a few weeks ago that is good until 12/31/11.  Also the deal in AZ is even sweeter because they will give me $50 to trade in my old phone.  I wonder if they will really give me $50 for my old Alltel HTC Pro?  One can hope.  The AZ flyer also has the following stagements: “Exciting offers! Get the phone you want. Keep the plan you have.”  My old unlimited data plan is looking real good right now.  Imagine a Nexus with UNLIMITED DATA!!

  14. i live in boston and my contract end on the 29th…

  15. mine is just like that, but it also mentions my $30 loyalty credit, and the fact that I can use both… I scanned a few pages of it and put it in the forums: http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-nexus/457704-discounts.html#post3595255

  16. Last year, 332 billion coupons were offered. Use of digital coupons taken from websites like coupons and Printapons is increasing but only 10% most of the coupons are surprisingly from sunday paper

  17. I got a coupon saying I could get a phone at the lowest promotional price… think that counts?

  18. Holy crap I think I just got this today in the mail…I didn’t even really read it just cause I’m not interested in anything other than the Nexus. Guess I missed the part about $100 off! I’ve only been with Verizon for 2 years OG droid in case anyone is trying to narrow it down to who may or may not have gotten them.

  19. I got one but it’s for $50 instead of $100. I currently have the original droid.

  20. My contract is up in a couple weeks…this would be nice.  Sent ’em to Michigan!

  21. My mailer might as well have been a punch in the face, offering me “great” deals like the Razr and Rezound for “only” $299.99.  I’m convinced that Verizon is the one putting off the Galaxy Nexus, not Samsung and Google, in an attempt to sell more Rezound and Razrs, since they likely have to subsidize less for those crappy phones at $299.99 than the Nexus.

  22. If anyone received one and isn’t going to use it I would gladly pay the postage to have you forward it to me. Let me know.

  23. The sales rep at BestBuy said he has clearance to sell me a vzw GN on thursday at 9:00 am…

He could not tell me how many he had, and could not look it up in the computer yet..
    Sketchy at best…

  24. VERIZON = PHONE NAZI’S

  25. Tried talking the local Verizon store (not in Illinois) into this $100 discount last night.  I currently have a Droid Incredible and I’m looking at the Nexus.  No go on the discount.
