Mobage’s Games Getting Fix for Super-User Request Error

1

Yesterday, we reported on some weirdness going on with Mobage’s games. For some reason, the games would request super user (root) access when opened, a red flag for anyone who knows what type of system access root allows.

Mobage clarified with users quickly, explaining that the Super User requests were coming from bad ad code from their mobile advertising agency. Apparently their ads are coded to look for root access and block access to their own ads. Weird, right?

Whatever the issue was, it was apparently very easy to fix as Mobage has informed us that a fix is nearly ready and should be released for all of their games by Monday. Phew! Stay tuned for a special promotion they’re running soon.
