Andy Rubin Reminisces 2007, Notices Kid Wanted His Phone to Make “Ice Cream” [Video]

6

Our friend Andy Rubin, the father of Android, took to Google+ with a heartwarming thought and video. In 2007, Google released a promo for the Open Handset Alliance. It featured a group of kids telling what they’d want in a phone. Many different things came up. Pizza, cookies, robots – all the usual kid stuff.

One kid even said Cupcake (wink wink) and Andy then points out that at the very end a kid was drawing an ice cream cone and said he wanted three scoops. How awesome.

Not really news, per se, but considering the context (the announcements we expect Google to make next week) we’ll take every bit that we can get. I think it’s pretty much settled that we’re going to be seeing Ice Cream Sandwich next week. See the video here. [Thanks George!]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.
