The Dell Streak 7 is beginning to receive its update to Android 3.2 Honeycomb. Arriving earlier than expected, the new Android version is said to wipe the tablet of its saved data before installation. Other reports indicate that the 7-inch, 800×480 display might be just a bit too cramped to adequately support Honeycomb. The update appears to be rolling out slowly at first, though things are rumored to pick up by the end of the week.

Wish my Streak 5 was gettin some HC lovin!!
If I am rooted, will running this update just unroot the device, or brick it?
@ Walter, if you used Gingerbreak and don’t have CWM installed, just run Gingerbreak again and select unroot. That’s my plan just to be safe anyway
Thanks man. I will probably just do that.
I just didn’t know if the upgrade would maintain data. Unroot with gingerbreak wipes data I believe. I don’t think I installed any recovery.
I don’t understand why a person would buy one of these tablets with that horrible screen that Dell put on it. I may be wrong but from what I’ve seen of it the viewing angles are horrible.
Someone please correct me if i’m wrong
yeah. don’t, i bought one because it was 199 offer when i bought my alienware pc. everything sucks about this thing.
@Walter: updating it won’t unroot it. It won’t brick it either. If it ever gets frozen, you can always wipe the device by flashing another ROM to it. If you unlocked it, the unlock will stay permanent too. I unlocked it before the update and my DELL Streak 7 is still unlocked ( http://www.unlockstreak.com/products/unlock-dell-streak-7 )
