New HTC Ruby (Amaze 4G) Press Shot Surfaces

13

A new press shot for T-Mobile’s upcoming HTC Amaze 4G (Ruby) has just surface online. While this doesn’t provide any new information on the device, it does give us a clearer view of the device’s form factor (from the front anyway). I’ve personally had some hands-on-time with the T-Mobile version of the device and can describe the back as white plastic separated with silver aluminum (like we’ve seen on the HTC Flyer and Wildfire S). Rumors are slating this device for an October 26th launch on T-Mobile and will also launch exclusively on Telus in Canada.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. Meh, doesn’t look near as good as the Vigor/Incredible HD/Thunderbolt 2/Fanfriggintastic (ok I made that one up =p). But I prefer a cleaner all-black look on most devices and vehicles.

    1. U no like the silver/white combo?

And I’m not too sure how I feel about the topography/black/red combo on the Vigor. Meh — different strokes, I guess =p

  2. nexus prime press shot please =(

  3. What’s the screen size?

    1. 4.3-inches. Same as the Sensation. Screen quality.. well that’s a WHOLE different story =p

  4. +1 @ endone’s comment

  5. Looks like a silver nexus s

  6. Another HTC phone folks!

  7. This phone might just be a winner. The only potential issues I see are (a) thick phone compared to Samsung’s offerings; and (b) typical HTC small battery. Let’s hope HTC finally is getting a clue about these two issues. And FYI: You can always replace the battery with a higher-capacity after-market one.

  8. Hey Chris does this feel like a premium phone like an EVO, Sensation, or Thunderbolt or is it more plasticy like a mytouch or samsung phone?

    1. Oh yeah and is the screen concave like the Sensation?

      1. Crap. Hard to remember about the screen. Pretty sure it was flat though. The back is unibody just like the Sensation (all one piece) but different color scheme I guess. Looked damn near identical to the Wildfire S just longer.

And because I don’t want to get your hopes up — the screen was incredibly low quality. I wanna say its not even SuperLCD. They definitely skimped when it came to screen quality =/

        1. I’ll wait to see it in person then. Hopefully the one you saw was just a bad unit. I remember with the myTouch 4G the first batch that came out had a ton with a washed out screen problem that I don’t think was ever officially acknowledged but at the same time most customers don’t notice it. The shipments that came in later had a much more vibrant screen with more pop to the colors.
