Fusion Garage Pushes Grid 10 Tablet Back, But Dramatically Slashes Price

7

The Fusion Garage Grid 10 tablets weren’t originally on our radar for must haves, but following recent price cuts in response to HP’s fire sale for the HP TouchPad, they will come to market with considerably cheaper tablets at $300 and $400 for the WiFi and 3G models, respectively – those are discounts of $200 each.

The Grid 10 is a dual-core Tegra 2 processor with a 10.1 inch display and 1366×768 resolution. This one doesn’t come with Honeycomb, it seems, as Fusion Garage has made their own “GridOS” which is essentially a heavily-customized version of Android.

We’d hope that the community could find a way around that once Ice Cream Sandwich comes around. Look out for the Fusion Garage Grid 10 October 1st. [via RWW]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. I guess I’m going to have to wait and see how I feel about it until I try it. From what I’ve seen so far in not seeing much of a reason to want ics on there.

  2. Drop it to $100 and I’ll buy one to tinker with it. Otherwise, Meh!

  3. Any info on what it takes to get into the 3g model? Do you have to pay for service or is it an included 2 year deal at that price?

    1. I think it’s just a bare device. You need to, on your own, figure out what carriers it supports and get a SIM card. You should be able to get a month to month or a prepaid data plan on AT&T or TMO (not sure which one this supports.)

  4. 512 MB of RAM? That’s kind of a lightweight; that was the biggest problem with my Droid X2. It really ought to have 1024MB to back up that processor and screen.

  5. Well, “GridOS” ??? What a Joke !!! They put that down so people could shut their mouth if they want to complain about Upgrading Android OS since “GridOS” is NOT ANDROID ):

  6. Is this another ADAM?
