Fring Updated In The Android Market – New Playgrounds Feature For Group Video Chat

6

Fring was updated in the Android Market today to version 3.5.1.4 and with that came the typical bug fixes and stability improvements but also, something new. Fring has added a new video chat feature they’re calling “Playgrounds.” The new Playgrounds feature allows you to group chat with other (random) Fring users, talking about a variety of topics much like being on “the playground” when you were a kid. Take a fancy to someone? Once the call is ended, simply add a user as a friend and see where it takes you. Oh- and don’t worry about Playgrounds full of snausages. Fring is smart enough to detect when your face isn’t onscreen thus not displaying your cam (pervs).

Whether or not this will be well adopted by current Fring users remains to be seen. In any case, it seems like a fun way of meeting new people or starting spontaneous dance parties. You can find me in the Playground “Justin Beliebers 4 Life.” See you on the other side!
