eAccess Smart Bar Aims to Bring the Candybar Number-pad Feature Phone Back in Style

5

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen someone trying to bring back the number pad ala the feature phones of yesteryear, except with Adnroid on it. The folks at eAccess have gone retro with the Smart Bar, an Android-running candybar phone with a really thin display.

Inside you’re getting an 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, a 3 inch display with 331 PPI, 802.11n with WiFi and more. Android 2.3 runs on it if you were wondering. All for $383 if you were to import from Japan where it is being sold. Not sure if there’s anyone out there who demands a smartphone of this kind, but here it is. [Engadget]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  3. I would like that as my GoogleTV remote.

  4. typing with a number pad in japanese is easier, thats why flip phones are really popular there still.

  5. Looks nice. All it needs is a dual core and larger screen. Maybe make the number pad side out idk
