HTC EVO 4G Receiving Maintenance Update

9

Just because the HTC EVO 3D has become Sprint’s new poster child for top-of-the-line Android doesn’t mean there is any lack of love for last year’s EVO 4G. A new update is slated to roll out over the next couple of weeks bringing a few minor enhancements and plenty of bug fixes to the world’s first 4G WiMAX handset. Here is what to expect in the update to software version 4.53.651.1:

  • Integrated voice recognition accuracy with voice search and voice-to-text
  • Image size issue with contact transfer over bluetooth
  • Images cut off in Picasa
  • Group contacts not in alphabetical order
  • Out of memory, Unable to send SMS
So, at least for now, the EVO 4G will not go gentle into that good night. No, it will rage, rage against the dying of the light. You can head over to the source link below for more info on the update.

  1. That Picasa bug has been bugging me forever.

    1. I hate it, happens in Flickr too sometimes…

  2. I don’t want it! It’s a very retarded update that is useless to me. I have CM7! I just got it recently with Revolutionary! I’m not going back.

    1. jesus dude, then dont go back!

      1. Don’t f*ck with the Jesus.

  3. Stupid updates. missing the real issues. I did update and if anyone is wondering the Hboot is not changed with this update, so the Revolutionary root *should* still work.

  4. Yeah, just root then get MikG or CM7 (I’m partial to MikG)

  5. Good, the last update screwed with the voice search and voice to text on mine. Hopefully this will fix the problem.

  6. htc EVO 4G: The 1st legitimate iPhone killer. Kicking myself for not keeping mine (when I upgraded to the 3D) and putting it in a box in the closet…I suspect someday it will be a collectible.
