Samsung: Galaxy Tab 10.1 Still Planned for Australia

4

After initially agreeing to halt sales of their Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia, Samsung has released a statement saying, in essence, the show will go on. “The Galaxy Tab 10.1 for the Australian Market will be released in the near future,” says the statement, adding that the version of the tablet planned for sale in Australia differs from the one Apple is suing the manufacturer over. How, exactly, the two are different remains to be seen, but the manufacturer signed off rather firmly, promising,” Samsung will continue to actively defend and protect our intellectual property.”

  1. Sure hope so, for the sake of other consumers here in australia who wanted one. even though ive just bought the first gen Galaxy Tab 7, i wont be getting the 10.1 anytime soon, unless im lucky maybe for xmas :)
But i can confidently say, that all these lawsuits apple have against almost everyone is turning me off from ever buying another apple product. If hypothetically they were to win and block all sales of samsung, htc etc products, whats that leave for choice?
“Hi there sir, can i interest you in an ipad, or maybe an ipad”………yeah, no thanks! Good thing they missed out on blocking the sales of the Galaxy S 2 here, cause thats another device they want to have banned. And ive heard nothing but good things about it.

    1. Apple apparently has no more interest in innovating and just wants to make sure they stay top dog by any means necessary. Seriously, it’s like anti-abortionists trying to get rid of free choice. Just because the option is not there, does it mean I’ll accept the alternative? Fuck that, I’d rather pay extra for an unlocked S2 than to walk into an Apple store and buy an iPhone.

      1. Funny thing is an S2 locked or unlocked still comes in cheaper than buying an iphone lol, at least here in australia!

  2. The judicial system has put Apple in charge of what products a company can sell
