Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro Delayed Yet Again

4

Another Duke Nukem Forever-like debacle? The Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro looked like a fantastic device when we saw it back in February at Mobile World Congress, but the issue became whether or not we would see it. Months passed, and Q2 turned into Q3. And before Q3 can even get underway, the tentative date is now Q4. Before too long, this thing is just going to be flat-out irrelevant.

You should note that this particular delay pertains to the UK. Sony Ericsson says that October is the earliest they’ll be able to get the device out in that region. Like I said, it was a fantastic device with its hardware keyboard, 1GHz processor and 4 inch display, but by the time it’s out it will have been overshadowed by better phones, including ones from Sony Ericsson’s own line. No thanks. [Xperia Blog]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. is it due to production issues? remember that sony was hit pretty bad by the tsunami earlier in the year. they warned of delays to hardware at the time.

but yeh it will definitely be outdated time it hits… this should of been out last year same time as the milestone 2 and htc desire z !

  2. im not int to sony phones they look weird

  3. since i live in south america, and i need phones with at&t bands, and S-e seems to go with at&t, this phone interested me greatly, no doubt it will be out-specced but maybe they’ll sell it cheap, if not, my only hope is a droid 3, 5row kb ftw

  4. GUTTED, GUTTED, GUTTED!!!! Have been stalking this phone since finding it online in March!!!! The least SE can do is release some form of Comms regarding the delay!!!! EPIC-FAIL!!!!
