Earlier this week we caught wind that the “soak” test for the Android Gingerbread update for Motorola Droid 2 Global would be going out to select users towards the end of this week. A day or two later, Verizon posted the relevant documents for the update to their support site for the D2G, and subsequently announced via Twitter that the update had begun its systematic roll out as of June 15th. Funny thing is the update isn’t actually being sent out at all, according to Motorola’s support folks.
Postings over at the Motorola Support Forums clear up the confusion, saying the roll out of Gingerbread for the Droid 2 Global has not yet commenced. If you have been refreshing your system updates for the past three days wondering where your update is, you aren’t alone. But you may want to give it a rest until the update actually goes live.

Every time I see “Verizon” in the title of an article, and then realize that the article has nothing to do with the release date of the Bionic and/or Samsung Galaxy S II, I get really disappointed and frustrated. I’m serious…every single time.
Only one reply in this thread proves nobody cares what Motorola does anymore.
thanks moto, never going to buy a non-stock android device ever again ….
