When Samsung told us that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 would be available from June 8th starting at $500, we assumed everyone would get it. That isn’t the case, unfortunately. They’ve just issued a press release that states only one store in one city will be getting – a Best Buy in Union Square – June 8th. Everyone else will have to wait until June 17th.
If you were looking forward to picking this thing up in six days you may need to fly to NYC and get one if you don’t already live there. Or just get one from eBay. (Though that can be relatively expensive at this point.) If you’d rather wait, you will be able to pre-order from your local Best Buy or online starting June 8th, as well.
Another nice tidbit from the press release states that this thing will be coming with stock Android 3.1 when it launches, but a software update in the future will surely enable TouchWiz. Full press details are straight ahead. Be sure to check out our review of the Tab 10.1 here.

Samsung Media Hub

Completely agree, with this news i will now be waiting for a tablet with Tegra 3. Hopefully they release a Nexus tablet, if so i will be in line on launch day.

Also its what I have heard a bunch of times.
1.You don’t own a Galaxy Tab 10.1
2. Therefore you haven’t had the chance of seeing what tablet Touchwiz UX is.
Can’t rule it out just yet. It might* actually be good. Like TW4 on SGS II.

I can’t think of a WORSE place to launch.. the good news is.. if you live in NYC.. I’m sure you’ll be able to pick up a bunch of open box units within a week from consumers who really thought this was just like an iPad..

Sad that there’s no microSD card slot. That’s the one thing that would make this tablet PERFECT in my honest opinion.

You know I think they are doing this for a purpose, although I think they have gone about it a bad way.
Think about this, available on June 8, at one store, what does that mean? Line ups, hopefully. Press, hopefully.
What they should have done is announced the 17th, then come out and said get it early at this one store in NYC. Now it feels like everyone else is getting the shaft.
im i the only one who thinks that some of the touchwiz features are actually nice, all the video hands on ive seen with some of the touchwiz UI is actually kinda cool. touchwiz for a phone im not down with, but for the tablet some of the small features look actually quite nice
They are just trying to create news by creating a line outside that best buy.
