LG Optimus 2X and Black Prep for Global Domination

10

Today, LG announced that their powerful dual-core Optimus 2X and sexy Optimus Black will be hitting the country of India. According to LG, their new lineup will be available at all retail outlets with the Optimus 2X being sold for 30,000 INR ($676) and Optimus Black at 27,000 INR ($608).

I was impressed with both of these phones when I got the chance to manhandle them at CES. With the 2X already launching in the UK and Australia, I’m glad my Android brothers in India will get some LG love as well.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. 1 mroe county, still about 190 to go before global domination

  2. Why is no one but me pointing out the fact that the UI that these phones are using is IDENTICAL to touchwiz?

    1. I just noticed that as well. The Front page has both LG and Samsung posts and I was like … uhhhh photoshop fail?

    2. nah, touchwiz still expects the standard android buttons, while the one on the left in the picture above clearly has no buttons. must be running that new “Honey-phone” version. :P

      1. those are all pictures of the optimus black(completely flat screen, 2X has rounded sides)
the buttons have a backlight, and when that light turns off they become almost invisible.

    3. the homescreen layout is the same(4 large button dock) but LG Home has a different page indicator, and a completely different app drawer.
the LG Home app drawer has category based sorting.

  3. As far as i am aware the Optimus 2x and the Optimus Black have not been launched in Australia. So I don’t know where that info has come from?

  4. Still waiting for the T-Mobile version G2X cause it’s gonna be completely stock android. That’s what I want..just pure google experience!!

    1. I don’t want stock android. I just want the option to have stock android if for some reason the extra stuff doesn’t work for me.

  5. If I may ask: why do you (and many other americans) refer to Europe as UK, at least when it is about electronics? Is e.g. Germany part of the UK region?
