Xperia Play Going to Canada

6

Xperia Play’s going to Canada, too, as Mobile Syrup has uncovered the device on Sony Ericsson Canada’s site. Doesn’t give any sort of hint as to where exactly it’ll be going, but information received by MS suggests Rogers will be an exclusive carrier for the device there. Check their site out here.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. hmmm, I won’t be surprise that Rogers will get the Xperia Play. It seems that Sony Ericsson has some kind of agreement with Rogers. Rogers was the first carrier in North America to sell the Xperia X10.

  2. Out of all the cellphone providers here in Canada, Rogers always had the most Sony Ericsson phones. Pretty sure Rogets paid a lot to have the exclusivity.

  3. Not surprising. Rogers gets all the overhyped bombs.

  4. also got an underhyped acer liquid e which was suprisingly good for $0 on a term. android 2.2 before any other phone on rogers.

  5. I think its a good pick up since Rogers is woefully behind the other major carriers when it comes to android hardware. I wish they had a better relationship with HTC or get a good Motorola phone.

  6. Rogers Android lineup (not including the not yet released phones) are still better than that of AT&T here in the US. Liquid E is pretty damn good (its like a cheaper Desire), Captivate with 2.2 is nice as well.
