The folks at RunKeeper Pro must’ve liked what they saw when they offered the application for free before, because they’ve just announced a permanent price reduction to $0. If the trend is anything to go by, RunKeeper’s thinking more about their longtime revenue goals than the money they make for the app up front. It’s a business model that’s become almost necessary in the Android market considering how hard it is for paid apps to generate revenue. They claim many new things are in store for 2011, so go ahead and download it now without worry of it ever getting another price hike. [via LifeHacker]
First. Again. :D
@Hampteezy
Please go buy a i#hone and first their blogs.
People still do the whole “first” thing? ….. grow up
That’s BS. Do we get our money back if we already paid for it?
i agree hampteezy stfu and suck steve jobs cock
First to fail, LOL
Seventh!!!
EIGHT!
NINE!!!!!!!!!!
So then what is the business model for app developers if paid apps aren’t the future? Have ads running inside the app? Or hope that a carrier licenses your app and packages it as bloatware?
Ah that felt good. 11th
lol i pwned this post (oh and 12th) lol
It’s hard to make money when they’re selling their app at $10 and Google offers Mytracks for free. I used mytracks to plot out the couple of routes I run. I used the free version of Runkeeper for a bit, but I didn’t think the Pro version added anything to the mix that was worth paying for. I don’t see the need for every app to be social.
