CM G2 2.3
From the above Twitter post Cyanogen has managed to get Gingerbread running on his G2. Night and day, from what was to be expected from the modding community at the beginning, regarding this device. Hopefully the public will get a taste within the coming days.

And the least surprising of all the Gingerbread updated phones, the Nexus One. Team Douche member Chris Soyars has 2.3 up on his Nexus. The difference between the Nexus build and the G2 build? The Nexus build is available for those brave souls ready to flash. You know the speech: Not my fault etc.

  1. Damn you guys, that headline had me thinking the start of the official Google roll-out had begun. My fault for being optimistic, I guess.

  2. I hope Nexus One starts seeing Gingerbread OTA update soon!

  3. I’m running Gingerbread on my EVO right now

  4. Wow… damn. But no market or camera? … well then…
Wait for a release, or official update? Its still super sweet how gingerbread is being so quickly ported to other devices, and yet the big G still hasnt made any official updates… that is not epic at all… kind of a let down, right after the nexus s was released, n1 shouldve had 2.3 too. Followed by the g2, LOL THEN TO THE G1! ( made me laugh, g1 is still a peice of history, as in because it was the first developers phone and android phone. imo)

  5. @SoFLO

Ya right. on a side note my Evo can shoot fire through the speaker.

  6. My Nexus One has carrot cake on it. No camera, but that’s because I’m a slob.

The last time it was what, about six weeks between froyo being announced and when the OTAs started happening?

I wouldn’t expect an OTA soon, ESPECIALLY because OTA Gingerbread to N1 potentially cannibalizes sales of Nexus S, and that might not be seen as a good thing by either Samsung or Google.

  8. LMAO @ gingerBEARD!!

  9. Gingerbeard eh!

  10. it may have taken 6 weeks but those amazing hackers had a pre-release (leaked) version or something like that up in a few days which you could flash. (Nexus One) I’m waiting for that. But then again froyo brought a number of important features I really wanted. Flash, Chrome to Phone, move to SD. Gingerbread on the other hand doesn’t have anything I really want so I might as well wait for the official release.

  11. Yaaawn.

  12. @Bobert, something in your mouth?

  13. Why release some thing with 1000 disclaimers just to be the first? Why not just be the FIRST to post a comment?

  14. The whole purpose is to let us know it wont be long now the G2 is now the next Nexus 1 in my eyez Cyanogen will keep us all up to date with all the new OS why wait for the official update the modders versions are always better always.

  15. Each day I read these sites, I become more and more satisfied for choosing to stay on the Android G path from G1 to G2.
