T-Mobile UK’s Desire Owners Won’t Be Without Froyo For Long

10

Last month, T-Mobile UK told everyone that the upgrade to Android 2.2 would be available sometime in September. There were no further details to be had, but it’s September and T-Mobile’s got some good news for their customers: the upgrade is in Google’s hands now waiting to be approved. We’re not sure how long it’ll take to get this process rolling, but it usually isn’t more than a couple of weeks from submission for approval to a full-scale rollout. Sit tight, guys.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Don’t let me down… Froyo! Froyo! Froyo!

  2. Sounds good.

Been waiting on this update for a while.

  3. Any news about Orange? Orange used to be quite good…

  4. Ooooh, can’t wait. I sincerely hope T-Mobile listens to its customers as we all are aware of what had happened with Vodafone who tried to thrust their firmware (bloatware, more like) instead of Froyo to their anger. I also aware that Vodafone backed down and introduced Froyo and their “bloatware” as optional extra.

T-Mobile, please don’t let us down.

  5. Can not wait, seems like we have been waiting months for this T mobile! Number 1 handset with Froyo. Bring it on !!!!!

  6. well, i’ve read tons of reviews today. And for now I’m leaning towards the Galaxy S.

I like the fact it has a 4″ (super AMOLED screen)
    DLNA streaming
just about every video support there is..
    5.1 surround
It’s GPU is the best on the mobile market as of right now.
It has bluetooth 3.0 and wifi N
I saw where it could play games much better than the desire.

The desire looks like it prob has better made hardware, but and I like that it has LED notification, but I just feel like the new would wear off faster with it. And there just seems like way more stuff that I could do with the Galaxy S.

I’m going to wait until Cellular South has both before I make my final decision.

  7. i just commented in the wrong thread.. please use different pics for topics created on the same day..

    Thanks

  8. Will be nice to see how well tmob do Froyo. O2 had an epic fail with their release. I personally opted for LeeDroid froyo a month or so back.

  9. If it’s anything like the G2 Touch (hero) 2.1 update, exspect a long delay and time after time them saying it’ll be out at the end of the month. That’s why I rooted and got 2.2 on my hero. Froyd Villain 2.2.

T-mobile messed us hero users around!

  10. The main reason I went with T-mobile is they never mess with the main user interface of their phones. No bloatware there. CAN NOT WAIT
