According to Commercial Times – a Chinese outlet – HTC could see itself shipping 8.5-million handsets in Q4 2010. They would be able to achieve the feat by reportedly introducing six new devices before year’s end. Three of those devices are said to be Android-based: the Europe-bound HTC Vision, and two US bound devices – the Vanguard and Emerald – heading to T-Mobile USA.
HTC must do something about their shortage issues if they want to meet this goal. To date, their two hottest smartphones in the US – the HTC Droid Incredible and the HTC EVO 4G – have been unable to sell as well as they’d probably like because they can’t get parts fast enough to ship them. From what I hear, certain configurations of the HTC Desire over in Europe can also be hard to find.
About the only phones from HTC we haven’t heard about regarding shortages lately are the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide and Google’s Nexus One. In any case, HTC’s proven time and time again that they can meet their ambitious goals, so I have no reason to believe they couldn’t meet this one.

They need to make their own displays…
OMG, EU forgotten as always (Vision doesn’t count, it has keyboard)
anyone in US willing to adopt me?
Bunch of crap. Still nothing in the rumor mill about an HTC Android device with a keyboard headed to Verizon. They have always released one in 4th quarter in the past, yet nothing even remotely rumored before the end of the year. Guess after 4 HTC smartphones (Harrier, Apache, Titan, Rhodium) over the past 6 years, I’ll be picking up the Motorola Droid 2 on launch day.
@hector The report didn’t mention the HTC Ace, rumored to be a 4’3 Gingerbread device by Tracy and Matt. It’s also out in October in the UK, according to the leaked roadmap.
O behalf of the Peoples Republic of China I would like to thank all you nerds who have helped us take away more industry expertise and profits and jobs from the US. Android Live on Forever!
@ChineseFactoryWorkers: What kind of device did you use to post your message? A US made typewriter?
That is quite a big feat.
HTC have been making a lot of money lately.
ChineseFactoryWorkers: you must be talking about foxconn, the company that makes the iPhone. Their manufacturing facility is in PRC. HTC’s is based in Taiwan.
please HTC make a Android phone with a keyboard for Verizon
