With respect to entry-level Android devices (and the fans of said devices), it’s become a trend to expect anything other than the latest and greatest that Android has to offer. These bottom of the barrel offerings tend to sport older versions of Android either because not enough care was given to the software side or because the hardware simply can’t live up.
Thankfully, Huawei’s showing everyone that doesn’t have to be the case. The device Engadget got tipped on has a 2.8-inch QVGA screen, a 3.2-megapixel camera (LED flash yet to be determined), and HSDPA 3G connectivity. These are the only specs that can be confirmed today, but it having Android 2.2 on board makes the offering that much more interesting.
What I’m wondering is why does it say google on the back istead of with google?
Why would they offer Froyo on the entry level handset and 2.1 on the S7 that looks really awesome.
If they offered Froyo and North American 3g on the S7, I would order it immediately.
