Last week, we saw Facebook sync setup instructions for Rogers customers that owned an Acer Liquid E. It looked pretty official and made us confident we’d be seeing its launch soon, but MobileSyrup now gives us a solid confirmation: Canadian carrier Rogers will be carrying the Acer Liquid E this June. The E stands for Eclair as the phone is a refresh from the original Acer Liquid. You’ll be able to get it for $374 off contract, or you can opt into a 3-year deal for just $49.
The phone is equipped with a 1ghz Snapdragon processor, but has unfortunately been underclocked to 768mhz. Even with this underclock, 768mhz on Qualcomm’s latest architecture should prove more than enough to handle Eclair. Any Rogers customers planning to scoop this one up this summer?
Neat, this is exactly the phone I’ve been watching. Though I can still get the previous version (but the same hardware) for cheaper than that.
i wonder why it has taken so long for Acer to get 2.1 working for this phone, it’s basically a vanilla version of android 2.1!
