Many months ago there was a mysterious Android MID that popped up at Pocketables – that was back in August.
We also got our first taste of specs:
- Rockchip RK2808 chipset
- 600MHz processor
- 4.8″ capacitive touchscreen
- WiFi connectivity
- 780p support
- MKV, AVI, RMVB formats
- 2 mm thick at its thinnest point
- 10 mm thick at its thickest point
- 8 GB and 16 GB versions
- Retail for around $191 and $235 (depending on version)
It has been quite awhile since we’ve heard anything at all about the device, let’s see – 1, 2, 3 months – but we finally have some news. And it’s kind of disappointing – the Ramos W7, which seems to be nicknamed Blue Magic, will only be running Android 1.5. This is according to Chinese Forum iMP3.net (translated), who also snagged a bunch of pictures at the Beijing event:
We’ll keep you posted as more details arrive… you know, definite price, areas of availability, upgrades to 1.6/2.0 – those types of things. You likey?
