Its just a concept, but Tryi Yeh‘s G0 phone is looking pretty cool. The name was no doubt intended to poke a little fun at HTC’s design efforts in the G1, but there is some interesting ideas beyond the design.
Besides looking pretty attractive (and mostly realistic to manufacture no less), the device has a slide out section that reveals (alas) no QWERTY but a set of four user definable buttons as well as a camera. It gets even more interesting with the accessories the company has dreamed up, which include a Pre-like inductive charger and dock system.

Where’s the freakin keyboard?
I don’t care if it’s got no keyboard, it’s sick looking, they could always make it a dual slider to. up for user defines buttons down for qwerty board.
dude that SHIT IS A BEAST I WANT THAT
Look at the UI on it, it looks different. Anyone want to tell me if thats a theme or something?
Why does HTC REFUSE to make an Android phone like this ? They’ve had how many chances now ?
When does this come out and what carrier?
Honestly I think the U.S. is getting the really short end of the stick where phones are concerned. I want phones like this if the technology is out there.
The G1 is a piece of crap compared to this. What the heck is “their” problem?!
I don’t get it. What is so special about this phone. No keyboard. No camera flash. No internal specs of any kind. What is so great about this. No external buttons (whatever) who cares. Another touch screen only device. Who cares. this thing at least needs an fm tuner.
there is a lot of manufacturers comming with android. So just wait for … lg, samsung, motorola, sony … they can do that, maybe even better
@solid
It’s just slick looking. The reason there’s no specs is it’s just a concept phone, it’s not real. (at least not yet!) If it did get made, it could easily be shit or it could be an iPhone killer. Most likely somewhere in between. I agree it would be nice to have a camera flash, but I’m not sold on the necessity of a physical keyboard. I’m pretty proficient with the iPhone on-screen keyboard, it works pretty well.
I’m nursing a semi! That’s a sweet looking phone.
The touch screen is curved… is that viable with today’s technology?
Considering the G1 I don’t think they’ll be able to make it that thin and have any sort of battery life.
It’s very simple people want a slick looking phone and a slick UI Android needs better animations.
You also don’t get that this is a CONCEPT device… how would you know this wouldn’t end up with a flash? How do you know that? And being a concept, how on earth could there possibly be any “internal specs” at this point?
And screw hard keyboards, more weight, moving parts, fatter phone, more things to go wrong, break ect. Bigger screens mean bigger on screen landscape keyboards, easier to type on, no big deal. I’m just hoping we see a device like this soon, and something like whether this has a FM tuner or not I doubt will be a deal breaker for most people when we see the rest of it, that is if it ever even happens.
Solid,
It’s shiny. That would be about it.
Apparently we’re being dealt a grave injustice because our phones aren’t “cool”. It’s in the constitution, after all, “Life, Liberty, cool phones…” it’s in there somewhere.
> Look at the UI on it, it looks different. Anyone want to tell me if thats a theme or something?
I think it’s called photoshopping or something like that.

Geek-wannabe alert?
curved capacitive touch screen, led buttons, & new-fangled RF dataport thingy… To make this with today’s technology, it’d be the size of a DynaTAC 8000X!
nice design though. I’d love a phone with those screen dimensions.
stupid and lame seems huge and why not put a keyboard
