Alright folks, I just got back from the T-Mobile G1 Press Conference and I have a few quick comments before I started plugging and chugging to get all this content up on the site.
First of all, wow, live blogging ain’t easy. There are a lot of things that COULD potentially go wrong and I’m going to write a little post tomorrow about that. But right now my focus is on getting what DID come out up on the site.
What you can look forward to:
- Media Kit Info
- Media Kit Pics
- Pictures from the event
- Video from the event
- Video of the phone in action
- Video of specific apps in action
It’s 2pm right now and there is another event, this time hosted by HTC, at 2:30pm. I’m not sure what more could happen… I think its just another opportunity to play with the phone. So, I’ll probably head over there around 4pm since its open until 5:30 – I want one last chance to play with the device before I get to use it in the comfort of my own home (hopefully as an advance/review unit?!??!)
Cheers and stay posted!
I’d like to know if the device has GPS. Is GPS, if it exists, open to all applications? Can third-party market applications exist on the phone (meaning are they locked out from installing other applications)? What features are locked out if it is not an application approved by T-Mobile. The initial announcement was really thin on details relevant to developers.
Great coverage ! was fun reading you live… looking forward reading the complete report and seeing pics and videos ! Thanks again.
How robust is the Slide?
I dislike Slide and Flip phones due to the fact that they are so fragile. In all the photo’s I’ve seen of the G1, it appears that the screen is slightly lop-sided when fully extended.
My work HTC Touch Dual is already starting to show signs of derailing and every Nokia N95 i’ve seen has scratch-marks across the slides.
