Moto Z Play update brings it to Android 7.1.1

0

The Moto Z Play has been enjoying Nougat for quite some time now, and it’s about to jump to the next incremental stage. The device is now getting Android 7.1.1.

If you don’t remember, Android 7.1.1 brought mostly under-the-hood changes or changes meant for developers. It was the first one to support Daydream, of course, but the Moto Z Play isn’t a Daydream phone. Android 7.1 also brought new emojis and a Night Light feature, improvements to display touch performance, notifications improvements, improved battery performance, and more.

Moto has some changes of their own for this update, too, including the addition of Duo as the standard video calling app, the newest Android security patches, as well as version 2.0 of the Moto Mods platform.

The update should be rolling out to unlocked handsets, so get to the settings menu and check for it as soon as you can.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.
