2016 has been an interesting year for BlackBerry, but it seems like it is ready to release its next big smartphone with the BlackBerry DTEK60. Its predecessor, the DTEK50, was released in July and marked the first time BlackBerry had licensed the design and build of a device, but fell in the mid-range category. The DTEK60 looks to help BlackBerry rebound as it has the specs that rival most flagship smartphones on the market today.
BlackBerry DTEK60 Specs:
- 5.5-inch (2560×1440) AMOLED Display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Processor
- 4GB RAM
- 32GB Storage
- 8MP front camera
- 21MP rear camera
- 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0
- Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Although BlackBerry has yet to make this device official, our friends at B&H Photo have the device available for pre-order for about $500. At this price point, the DTEK60 won’t take on the likes of the OnePlus 3, but $500 is still a steal for a device with these specs.
For anyone that pre-orders the device, B&H is also throwing in a BlackBerry rapid travel charger and a soft shell case for the DTEK60. It’s important to remember that you won’t be able to use this on Sprint or Verizon as it is only compatible with GSM carriers.
