The design of the HTC Bolt has been revealed, thanks to a leaked image from Evan Blass. What many weren’t expecting was for the Bolt to look like the HTC 10. No details regarding the phone’s specs were shared, but the image itself does offer more than a few clues. To start, the HTC Bolt doesn’t appear to have a 3.5mm headphone jack, implying that the device will feature a USB Type-C port. The camera lens on the back of the phone looks similar to the one used on the HTC 10, but the flash module has been moved and the laser autofocus sensor isn’t anywhere to be found.

There’s no denying that the HTC Bolt has a classic HTC look, but the proportions of some design elements like the camera main camera lens and the antenna lines on the back of the phone appear larger than they should is the image of the Bolt is matched up with the HTC 10. Scaling the HTC Bolt down so that size of the camera lens matches that of the HTC 10 shows that the HTC Bolt may actually be closer in size to the original HTC One than HTC’s 2016 flagship smartphone. This also reveals that the phone may be thinner than the HTC 10, while also explaining the reason for the odd bump out in the chamfered edge for the USB connection port.

Based on previous rumors, we’re expecting the HTC Bolt to be unveiled in October. However, the date shown on the screen in the leaked image suggests the exact date may be October 18th. Those who have followed HTC leaks over the years know that the date on the screen often matches up with the date the phone is unveiled.

Do you think the HTC Bolt could be an attractive option if it’s just a smaller version of the HTC 10?
