Facebook is testing the ability to save videos for offline viewing in latest beta
It looks like Facebook will finally allow you to download videos. The company is testing the feature in the beta version of the Facebook app.
The functionality is simple and straight forward: you “save” a video, and it downloads it to your device to allow you to view it offline. The feature is mainly targeted toward users who can’t use much mobile data on the go due to limited buckets of data or unreliable connections.
The feature itself is nice to have, even if the sort of Facebook Video content must of us see is stuff that isn’t so terribly pertinent to view at times where you can’t be on WiFi. That said, for those who do have their fair share of video activity (perhaps friends posting life updates or other such things) this is nice to see. We’re not sure when, exactly, the feature will launch in stable form, but you can grab it from Google Play so long as you opt into the beta.
