Home screen launchers are one of the things that make Android truly unique. Because of that, there are thousands of options available in the Play Store. I usually go with the standard layouts, like you’ll find in Nova or Google’s own launcher, but occasionally I like to try something different. ASAP Launcher takes the home screen in a different direction.
As the name implies, ASAP Launcher is all about speed. The dock at the bottom can be expanded to show recent apps and your pinned favorites. This puts your most commonly used apps in one place. When you use an app that’s not in the dock, the app drawer can be found by swiping in from the left edge. The drawer is organized into a vertical list with a search bar. It’s easy to find the app you want.
ASAP also puts your quick settings just a swipe away. Swipe in from the right edge to show toggles for things like brightness, WiFi, Bluetooth, Airplane mode, and more. Swiping left or right (not on the edges) will reveal the “cards.” By default, there are four cards: contacts, weather, calendar, and to-do. These cards allow you get information without opening up apps. The weather and calendar apps are especially useful and beautiful. You can rearrange and disable the cards.
In the settings, you’ll find a few options for personalization if you unlock the pro mode for $1.42. You can choose from five different themes (including auto day/night mode) and customize the colors to your liking. If you have a favorite icon pack, you can still use it to theme your icons. ASAP can even show unread counts SMS, phone calls, and emails.
