Google+ gets more awesome each and every day. Jarkko O has updated us on a new feature to Google Hangouts Extras. From within any hangout you’ll be able to call anyone in the US and Canada for free. It uses your Google Voice number so you’ll have to have one of those setup. From there, it’s like the person is on Google+ with you even if they’re not. Pretty cool. Check it out at plus.google.com/hangouts/extras today.
Oh cool, so can I use this feature on my Galaxy Nex… oh wait.
Exactly…*-.-
I’ll try it out for you.
Can’t wait to start a hangout on my Gnex then just call someone from there while on my wifi..muhahahahaahaw
This looks awesome, can’t wait to try it out!
Interesting, kind of taking over Google Voice a bit isn’t it? A bit confusing …. hmmm ,,,, where is Googs going with all this stuff?
Becoming your next telephone service provider. “Google Wireless”.
I’d bet on it.
Does this mean that we could technically make and receive phone calls over wifi, without having the phone on any carrier?
but we still don’t have google voice in canada, why make it work with canada?
Cause the US can still call Canada….
But Canadians don’t have Google Voice numbers for US to call….?
You don’t have to call a google voice number………………..
