Samsung Galaxy Note (GT-I9220) Passes Through FCC – Headed To The North America

19

Although not expected until 2012 in the US and Europe, the Samsung Galaxy Note (GT-I9220) passed through the FCC on Tuesday sporting North American 3G/4G bands that just so happen to be compatible with AT&T’s network. Judging by the fact that Canada received the Galaxy S II and Galaxy S II X before the US, it’s more than likely this device is headed to ‘ol America Jr. and her networks.

The Galaxy Note features a whopping 5.3-inch, 1280×720 HD display and will blur the lines between a phone and tablet earning the new title of “phoneblet.” Will be interesting to see how the average consumer takes to the device once it’s finally launched.

Thanks, Boondoc!

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. phoneblet…oh Chris…how I enjoy reading your articles :)

  2. Except, well, Canada hasn’t gotten the Galaxy Pseudo X yet. It’s just been announced. Still betting T-Mobile will see it before Telus does.

We got the Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi over two months after the US saw it, and we only got in 16gb and white. We got the SGS1 a month after the Captivate and Vibrant launched, and the Galaxy Tab 7″ also a month later than the US.

TLDR; the only ‘scoop’ we’ve seen this year has been Bell and the I9100, with everything else from Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony, etc, we’ve been sucking hind tit. We will have the first (and probably only) LTE Galaxy Pseudo in North America, though.

  3. yeah, GSM version – as always should be….

  4. I love this phone I hope it comes to Verizon

  5. I love the idea of this. I want this it better come to tmobile damn it!. I want one device a phoneblet would be perfect!

  6. Want. What processor and how much RAM again?

  7. Sweet cant wait. Just hope Apple doesnt take this one away.

  8. I would love to own this phone… on paper. But I would definitely need to spend some time with it in hand before I bought it. WIth a screen size that large, I would need to make sure I could actually handle it, and fit it in my pockets.

Pulling out a phone like that would be like pulling up to a stoplight in a Bugatti Veyron. There’s just nothing that could beat it.

  9. Please please please come out in January or sooner on AT&T. I’ll wait.

  10. I will either snag an unlocked version or a T-Mobile one if that ever happens…

  11. People are acting like they are the first to make a phone this size. The dell streak 5 has been out for almost 2 years now. 5″ screen. This is nothing more then an updated dell streak which i have been waiting for. Cant go back to 4″ screen after having the streak 5.

    1. true but this has a much better form factor than the Dell Streak. Its just prettier :-)

      1. Thats exactly why i stated it was an updated version of the streak. It corrects and improves the few issues i have with my streak. Rumor was dell was planning a updated streak but it seems the “opus” has been mothballed. So now i have been waiting for something just like this to replace my streak 5.

  12. Hey there were 2 articles on Phandroid today about the Galaxy Note. The other one disappeared, whats the dealy Chris/Q?

  13. America Jr? Srsly. Lame

  14. I just want it to rub it in my Iphone fanboy friends faces
