Rumor: Samsung to Reveal 5.3 Inch Phoneblet at IFA

14

IFA’s coming up and the rumors are starting to flow. The first of many involves Samsung who is said to be bringing us a large phone/tablet hybrid called the Samsung Galaxy Q. It’ll apparently be 5.3 inches in size and have a Super AMOLED display. We can’t imagine Samsung wouldn’t throw a dual-core processor inside and there’s a chance we could also see 4G LTE. All of this is hearsay for the time being, but all of this is said to be unveiled at IFA in Berlin, Germany on September 2nd, 2011.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. 5.3 inches. Surely there’s more than enough space in there to fit in a 5 row keyboard!

    1. Keyboards are dead. Move on….

      1. As long as people with preference for hardware keyboards exist, they’re not dead. We care about having a functional phone.

        1. They can take our freedom but they’ll never take our KEYBOARDS!! Too bad I can’t do a good Scottish accent online.

  2. Heresy? I’m not sure if there’s a market, but I wouldn’t call it heresy. Perhaps mildly blasphemous.

    1. Lol, Thanks for the entertaining correction.

  3. Too bad Verizon would never pick that up. I would switch to sprint for that one. I always wanted the Dell Streak, but dude it was a Dell, and on AT$T…

    1. This is why I love being in a country where carriers don’t rule the phone market with an iron fist.

      1. USA has its wireless systems all messed up. It is all about how to squeeze the last cent out of the consumer. If everyone used the same spectrum like Europe than coverage would be so much better everywhere.

        1. We have two carriers in the UAE, and both operate in the same spectrum, and have good coverage overall. It’s all so lovely around here.

      2. Yet. Wait until AT&T buys TMO, then you’re not going to be as happy about the carriers.

        1. I’m not in the USA. AT&T and tmobile do not exist in my country :p

  4. If this had an Exynos, LTE and a higher res than 480×800, I would buy it sight unseen.

  5. If the SGSII distribution model is any indication, this thing should hit North American shores sometime in 2035. #TeamEVO3D
