One of the nation’s smaller carriers just announced a bump up in data speeds as Cincinnati Bell has introduced their new HSPA+ network. To go along with their new network speeds the carrier is also introducing their first 4G phone, the Huawei Ascend X 4G. The Ascend X 4G rocks a 1GHz processor, 5MP camera, and 4.1-inch screen with downlink speeds topping out at 14.4Mbps. The handset runs on Android 2.2 and also features a front-facing camera.
Cincinnati Bell is claiming their HSPA+ is twice as fast as the competition, a bold statement for the small carrier. If you want to find out for yourself you can grab the Huawei Ascend X 4G for $99 on-contract or $350 without.

They use t-mobiles network also they own the local towers. roaming whenever outside the great Cincinnati region wherever t-mobile has coverage. That’s why you see similar technologies. I find it funny the phones they choose generally off brand or last years technology.
They do things on the cheap. I think I read somewhere they have 800,000 subscribers. Several companies I know are ditching them and the poor coverage to switch to Verizon. (I’ve got T-Mobile and the reception isn’t great, which negatively impacts battery life, not to mention data speeds and dropped calls.)
aw come on where is the hate on hspa+ (4g)? You guys are always bashing on tmobile for it why not these guys.
That phone looks like Huawei Ideos X6 U9000 or Wellcom Mobile A99 (In Thailand), Cherry Magnum HD (In Philipines), Viewsonic 4 (in Taiwan) and Motorola Triump
you’ll all be destroyed
