12549_214745995920_620385920_4548300_4637969_n There’s a certain novelty and even vanity about being the first to possess something many want. Well for those who recently paid $200 for the CLIQ that novelty is about to wear off.

Wirefly.com just announced they will be selling the CLIQ for $120 (40% discount) for those opening a new line or account with T-Mobile US.

Ouch! That’s $80 some of you could have saved if you waited 2 days.

This pricing is for a Motorola CLIQ  on the T-Mobile US network with a 2 year contract.

This is a really aggressive push by Wirefly to get customers. The internet mobile retailer also sells the Samsung Moment for $30 dollars less than Sprint does.

Motorola CLIQ Specifications:

  • Full Touchscreen with FULL QWERTY side slider
  • 320 x 480 pixel screen resolution
  • Android 1.5 (Cupcake)
  • 5MP camera with auto-focus
  • 3.5mm headset jack
  • MicroSD up to 32GB support
  • 1420 mAh battery
  • Syncs contacts, posts, messages, photos and much more—from sources such as Facebook®, MySpace, Twitter, Gmail™, work and personal e-mail, and LastFM
  • 5 stellar homescreen widgets to keep you always in-the-know: Happenings, Messages, Social Status, News Feeds, Calendar… plus your widgets from Android Market
  • MOTO Blur account allows you to back up your contacts/data, find a lost phone and easily integrate your existing contact info for friends/family/business

I was gonna buy mine off there but then I heard about my local Costco selling them for $150 with accessories (car charger, case, bluetooth headset, etc.) AND a waived activation fee. So I’ll definitely be hitting that offer up.

Also, I’ve heard rumors on various Moto/T-Mo forums of people saying they heard from Moto/T-Mo reps that 2.0 is coming to the Cliq in the coming months, does that have any possibility of being true? I know the current 2.0 on Droid is much too powerful for a measly 528MHz processor, but perhaps they plan to scale it down a bit? You know, tweak it performance-wise. It’d be nice if you guys looked into that.

The “coming soon” doesn’t have a release date. If the G1 was able to run 2.0 a bit laggy the CLIQ should be able to run it. The CLIQ has the ram.

I am still surprised there is no free with contract Android phone in the US.

With the Android phones being released now, and those soon to come, I’m a loss as to why anyone would go with this one.

    @ Oat,

Amazon DOES NOT have it for $99 with no contract. It’s $99 with 2 year contract. If you click Buy Without a Service Plan you’ll see it for $449 without a contract.
